Institutional Social Investor
An institutional social investor is an organization wishing to advance human development by purchasing shares of a project that yields a social return.
Institutional Social Investors are frequently corporations wishing to enhance their corporate social responsibility programs, or organizations managing philanthropic portfolios. However, with social shares listed on the exchange priced at US$ 25, there is barely a limit on how little they can invest.
By channeling their investments through the pilot South-South Exchange, Institutional Social Investors can more easily identify human development projects that are high quality, and can therefore make informed social investment decisions.
Once a cooperation project is listed on the pilot South-South Exchange and begins implementation, Social Investors receive reports on how their contributions improved lives.
In this way, they can keep well-documented track of their impact as an institution at advancing human development.
Institutional Social Investors wishing to build a portfolio of social investments at the pilot South-South Exchange can receive assistance identifying and facilitating projects that are consistent with their vision. If you would like to discuss your portfolio with a social investment analyst please email ssc.hdsx@undp.org
